About Walls.gg

Walls.gg is a small independent project. It exists because the wall-and-path style of strategy game deserves a fast, clean, modern browser version that you can open and finish in three minutes. The engine, the daily puzzles, the bot, the room system, the visuals and the words on this site are all original work for Walls.gg.

What the game is

Two pawns start on opposite sides of a 9×9 grid. On your turn you either step one square or spend one of your ten walls to block a lane. The first pawn to reach the far side wins. The single rule that turns this into a real strategy game is that a wall may never fully seal an opponent off — every wall you place must leave both players at least one legal path home. That constraint is what makes each wall a trade: you cost your opponent tempo, but you spend a resource you can never get back, and you often lengthen your own route too.

A full game usually lasts two to four minutes. Nothing is hidden, nothing is random, and there is no dice roll to blame — the position on the board is the whole truth.

What you can play here

How we build it

Every guide, rule explanation and strategy article on this site is written from playing and tuning this specific engine, not rewritten from elsewhere. When we change how the bot chooses walls or how ratings are calculated, we change the pages that describe it. Ranked results come from online games only; bot, daily and local games never touch the ranked ladder, so the leaderboard reflects games against real people.

Money, accounts and ads

We don't sell anything. There are no premium features, no loot boxes and no real-money prizes — the coins and keys in the shop exist only inside the game and cannot be bought. Casual play needs no account; signing in only keeps your rating and profile in sync across devices. We may show display advertising outside the playing area to cover hosting costs, and we never place ads on the board itself or between a move and its result. See Privacy and Cookies for what is stored and why.
